Prep Time: 20 minutes | Bake Time: 10–12 minutes | Total Time: 35 minutes | Servings: 30–35 cookies
Ingredients
For the cookies:
- 1 cup (226 g) unsalted butter, softened
- ¾ cup (90 g) powdered sugar
- 1 large egg
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2¼ cups (280 g) all-purpose flour
- ¼ teaspoon salt
For decorating:
- ½ cup (85 g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 teaspoon coconut oil or butter (optional)
- Red, green, white, and festive Christmas sprinkles
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Dough
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy.
Add the egg and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.
Gradually add the flour and salt.
Mix until a soft, smooth dough forms. Do not overmix.
Step 2: Shape the Cookies
Put the dough in a piping bag with a large star-shaped piping tip.
Bake little cookies in the form of flowers on a baking sheet that has been lined with parchment paper.
Allow a little room between each cookie.
Baking the cookies is step three.
Bake until the edges are just barely golden, 10–12 minutes.
Take the cookies out of the oven and leave them to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes.
Allow them to cool completely on a wire rack after transferring.
Melt the chocolate in step four.
In a microwave-safe basin, combine the chocolate chips and coconut oil.
Stir thoroughly until smooth, heating in 20-second increments in the microwave.
Give the chocolate a little bit of time to cool off.
Step 5: Embellish
Over the chilled cookies, sprinkle the melted chocolate.
Add the red, green, white, and cheery Christmas sprinkles right away.
Serve the chocolate only after it has completely hardened.
Suggestions for serving
Red tissue paper should be placed inside a red tin before arranging the cookies in an aesthetically pleasing manner. Serve with hot cocoa, tea, or coffee.
Storage room
Keep in a sealed container at ambient temperature for up to five days.
Chill if your kitchen is too warm.
Cookies that haven’t been adorned can be frozen for up to two months.
Tips for baking
For a smooth dough, use butter that is at room temperature.
The butter shouldn’t be melted.
Allow the dough to soften at room temperature if it is too hard to pipe.
