Ingredients:
For the Banana Bread Bars:
One and a half cups of granulated sugar, one cup of sour cream, and one and a half cups of softened unsalted butter
Four ripe bananas, mashed; two big eggs; two teaspoons of vanilla essence; two cups of all-purpose flour; one teaspoon of baking soda; and one-sixth teaspoon of salt
To make the Brown Butter Glaze, combine: 3 tablespoons milk, 1 ½ teaspoons vanilla extract, 4 cups powdered sugar, and ½ cup unsalted butter.
Instructions:
- Grease a 10-by-15-inch baking sheet and preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Beat the eggs, butter, sour cream, and sugar in a big bowl until smooth. Mix thoroughly after adding the vanilla extract and mashed bananas.
- Add the salt, baking soda, and flour and stir until just incorporated. Evenly distribute the batter onto the baking sheet that has been prepared.
- A toothpick inserted in the center should come out clean after 20 to 25 minutes of baking. Allow the bars to cool a little.
To prepare the Glaze with Brown Butter:
- Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Keep heating for another 5 to 7 minutes or until the butter is golden brown and smells nutty.
- Turn off the heat and whisk in the milk, vanilla, and powdered sugar until smooth. You can adjust the glaze’s consistency by adding a bit more milk if it’s too thick.
- Evenly cover the warm banana bars with the glaze. Cut the bars into squares after letting the glaze set.
