Tennessee Onions

Ingredients:
Three to four Vidalia sweet onions

1 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
4 tablespoons unsalted butter

One teaspoon of powdered garlic
One-half teaspoon of oregano
One cup of finely shredded Italian blend cheese
One cup of freshly shredded cheddar cheese
Half a cup of finely shredded Parmesan cheese

Instructions:

  1. Set the oven’s temperature to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Apply non-stick cooking spray to a 9 x 13-inch baking dish.
  3. Wash and peel the delicious onions from Vidalia. Don’t cut them into individual onion rings; instead, cut them into rounds that are about ¼ inch thick.
  4. Evenly distribute the onion across the baking dish’s bottom.
  5. Add oregano, garlic powder, and salt to the onion rings.
  6. Divide the butter into about eight equal pats. Evenly distribute these pats of butter over the rings of seasoned onion in the baking dish.
  7. Evenly distribute the cheddar and Italian blend cheeses on top of the onion rings. Add shredded P as a final garnish.
