Ingredients:
Three to four Vidalia sweet onions
1 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
4 tablespoons unsalted butter
One teaspoon of powdered garlic
One-half teaspoon of oregano
One cup of finely shredded Italian blend cheese
One cup of freshly shredded cheddar cheese
Half a cup of finely shredded Parmesan cheese
Instructions:
- Set the oven’s temperature to 350°F (175°C).
- Apply non-stick cooking spray to a 9 x 13-inch baking dish.
- Wash and peel the delicious onions from Vidalia. Don’t cut them into individual onion rings; instead, cut them into rounds that are about ¼ inch thick.
- Evenly distribute the onion across the baking dish’s bottom.
- Add oregano, garlic powder, and salt to the onion rings.
- Divide the butter into about eight equal pats. Evenly distribute these pats of butter over the rings of seasoned onion in the baking dish.
- Evenly distribute the cheddar and Italian blend cheeses on top of the onion rings. Add shredded P as a final garnish.
