Bacon Brown Sugar Tenders

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb chicken tenders
  • 8 slices beef bacon or turkey bacon
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • Olive oil spray or melted butter for greasing

Directions:

  1. Set the oven temperature to 375°F (190°C). Lightly coat a baking sheet with melted butter or olive oil spray after lining it with foil or parchment paper.
  2. Combine the black pepper, garlic powder, smoked paprika, and brown sugar in a small bowl.
  3. Wrap a piece of bacon around each chicken tender, spiralling from one end to the other. If necessary, fasten with toothpicks.
  4. Gently coat all sides of each bacon-wrapped tender by rolling it in the brown sugar mixture.
  5. Arrange the tenders, separating them, on the baking sheet that has been prepared.
  6. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, turning halfway through, until the bacon is caramelized and crispy and the chicken is cooked through.
  7. Watch carefully to avoid burning and broil for a further 1 to 2 minutes for added crispiness.
  8. Before serving, take it out of the oven and give it five minutes to rest. It’s best eaten hot with a dipping sauce, such as spicy mayo or honey mustard.
