Ingredients:
- 1 lb chicken tenders
- 8 slices beef bacon or turkey bacon
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- Olive oil spray or melted butter for greasing
Directions:
- Set the oven temperature to 375°F (190°C). Lightly coat a baking sheet with melted butter or olive oil spray after lining it with foil or parchment paper.
- Combine the black pepper, garlic powder, smoked paprika, and brown sugar in a small bowl.
- Wrap a piece of bacon around each chicken tender, spiralling from one end to the other. If necessary, fasten with toothpicks.
- Gently coat all sides of each bacon-wrapped tender by rolling it in the brown sugar mixture.
- Arrange the tenders, separating them, on the baking sheet that has been prepared.
- Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, turning halfway through, until the bacon is caramelized and crispy and the chicken is cooked through.
- Watch carefully to avoid burning and broil for a further 1 to 2 minutes for added crispiness.
- Before serving, take it out of the oven and give it five minutes to rest. It’s best eaten hot with a dipping sauce, such as spicy mayo or honey mustard.
