Best Homemade Salsa Ever

  • 1 can (28 oz) whole tomatoes with juice
  • 2 cans (10 oz each) Rotel diced tomatoes and green chilies
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 whole jalapeño, quartered and sliced thin
  • 1/4 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 cup chopped cilantro (more to taste!)
  • Juice of 1/2 lime
  1. Add the Rotel diced tomatoes, green chilies, and whole tomatoes with their juice to a large mixing bowl.
  2. To the bowl, add the sliced jalapeño, diced onion, and minced garlic.
  3. Add the ground cumin, sugar, and salt. Mix everything thoroughly by stirring it all together.
  4. To suit your taste, add the chopped cilantro and fold gently.
  5. Add half a lime’s juice and stir once more.
  6. If necessary, taste your salsa and adjust the seasoning by adding additional cilantro, salt, or lime juice.
  7. For the salsa’s tastes to meld harmoniously, let it sit for at least half an hour.
