INGREDIENTS:
One cup of flour
1/4 cup of sugar
One teaspoon of baking powder
Half a teaspoon of salt
Half a cup of softened butter or margarine
3/4 cup of milk
One egg
Fruit pie filling (apple, cherry, peach, blueberry, blackberry, etc.) in one 21-oz can
Sugar (or, if using apple or peach filling, cinnamon-sugar)
INSTRUCTIONS:
Turn the oven on to 375°F, or 190°C.
Mix the flour, sugar, baking powder, egg, butter, milk, and salt in a bowl.
Mix the ingredients together thoroughly.
Pour the batter into a 9-inch pie plate that has been greased, making sure to distribute it evenly.
Leaving about 1 inch of space from the edge, spoon the fruit pie filling into the middle of the batter.
Sprinkle cinnamon-sugar on top if you’re using apple or peach filling. For alternative fillings, just dust with sugar.
Don’t mix the batter and pie filling.
The crust should be completely baked and golden brown after 35 to 40 minutes of baking.
Before serving, take it out of the oven and allow it to cool somewhat.
