INGREDIENTS:
1 fully cooked bone-in ham (about 10 pounds)
Half a cup of brown sugar and 1 cup of honey
1/4 cup of Dijon mustard
One-fourth cup of apple cider vinegar
Half a teaspoon of cloves, ground
Half a teaspoon of cinnamon powder
1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg, ground
INSTRUCTIONS:
Preheat Oven: Set the oven’s temperature to 325°F (165°C).
Get the ham ready: The ham should be put in a roasting pan. Score the ham’s surface in a diamond pattern, about 1/4 inch deep, if you’d like.
Prepare the Glaze: The honey, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, ground cloves, ground cinnamon, and ground nutmeg should all be combined in a small pot. Stirring occasionally, cook over medium heat until the mixture is well mixed and the sugar has dissolved.
Put the Glaze on: Make sure the glaze reaches the scored portions of the ham by brushing half of it over it.
Bake the Ham: Place the ham in a warm oven, baste it occasionally with the pan juices, and bake it for 1 1/2 to 2 hours, or until heated through, covered loosely with foil.
Raise the oven temperature to 425°F (220°C) in order to caramelize the glaze. After taking off the foil, brush the ham with the leftover glaze. Put the ham back in the oven and bake it for another 15 to 20 minutes, or until it is golden brown and the glaze has caramelized.
Rest and Serve: Before carving, take the ham out of the oven and give it a good 15 to 20 minutes to rest. This ensures that every slice of meat is moist and tasty by allowing the liquids to redistribute throughout the meat.
