INGREDIENTS:
One pound of homemade or store-bought pizza dough
Two tablespoons of olive oil
Two minced garlic cloves
1/4 cup of Parmesan cheese, grated
One cup of provolone (or mozzarella) cheese, shredded
Half a cup of cooked beef or steak tips, thinly sliced
A half-tsp of garlic powder
One-fourth teaspoon of chile powder (optional; adds a little Tex-Mex flavor)
One teaspoon of dried oregano
For dipping, use cheese sauce (queso) or marinara with salt to taste.
INSTRUCTIONS:
Set the oven’s temperature to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or grease it.
On a lightly floured board, roll out the pizza dough into a rectangle.
Combine the olive oil and minced garlic in a small bowl. Evenly coat the pizza dough with the olive oil scented with garlic.
Over the dough, scatter half of the shredded provolone (or mozzarella) and grated Parmesan cheese.
Evenly distribute the thinly sliced beef over the dough. Season with salt, oregano, and garlic powder.
Using a pizza cutter, cut the dough into strips after folding it over with a light squeeze.
After twisting each strip, arrange them on the baking sheet that has been prepared.
Top with the remaining provolone shreds and optional chili powder.
Bake for 12 to 15 minutes in a preheated oven, or until crispy and golden brown.
Serve warm with a delicious queso dip or marinara sauce.
