Praline Crunch

INGREDIENTS:
8 cups Crispix cereal
Two cups of pecan halves, preferably salted; one cup of packed brown sugar

One cup of corn syrup
One teaspoon of vanilla extract, one cup of butter, and one teaspoon of baking soda

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Set the oven temperature to 250ºF.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the cereal and pecans.
  3. Melt the butter, corn syrup, and brown sugar in a large saucepan over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally, until it boils. Take off the heat and mix in the baking soda and vanilla. Stir to fully coat the cereal and pecans after pouring this mixture over them.
  4. Line the 9 x 13-inch pan with the coated mixture. Stir every 20 minutes while baking for an hour.
  5. Break the mixture into pieces after transferring it to parchment paper or wax to cool.
