Ingredients:
Two cups of sugar granules
Half a cup of unsalted butter
Half a cup of whole milk
One-fourth teaspoon of salt
One teaspoon of vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups of chocolate chips that are semisweet
One cup of chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)
Directions:
1.Get the pan ready:
An 8-inch square baking dish can be lightly oiled with butter or lined with parchment paper. Put aside.
Second.
- Make the Fudge Base:
Put the butter, whole milk, salt, and granulated sugar in a medium pot. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, stirring frequently. After it reaches a boil, lower the heat a little and continue to cook, stirring regularly, for around five minutes. A slight thickening of the mixture is expected.
- Include the chocolate.
When the saucepan reaches a boil, turn off the heat and quickly mix in the chocolate chunks. Stirring continuously will melt the chocolate completely and level out the mixture.
- Texture and Flavor:
Add the chopped pecans or walnuts, if using, and the vanilla extract. Although they are optional, the nuts give the fudge a pleasant crunch and nutty flavor.
- Set and Cool:
Evenly distribute the fudge mixture after pouring it into the baking dish. Allow it to cool for one to two hours at room temperature, or until it solidifies. You can expedite the setting process by placing it in the refrigerator if you’re pressed for time.
- Chop and Present:
Cut the fudge into little squares and serve it after it has hardened. For a longer shelf life, keep any leftovers in the refrigerator or at room temperature in an airtight container.
