Ingredients:
1 can of condensed milk (395 g)
3 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup milk (whole milk or any preferred milk)
Optional: powdered sugar for dusting, whipped cream for topping
Instructions:
- Preheat the Oven:
Set the oven temperature to 175°C (350°F). Line an 8-inch round or square cake pan with parchment paper or grease and flour it. - Combine the Wet Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, melted butter, condensed milk, and vanilla extract until smooth and well blended.
- Mix the Dry Ingredients: Sift the flour, baking powder, and salt in a different bowl. This will keep your cake from getting lumps.
- Combine the Wet and Dry components: Slowly mix the dry components with the wet ones, switching between them and milk. Add a small amount of the dry ingredients first, then a small amount of milk, and keep adding until both are completely combined. Try not to overmix; simply mix until smooth.
- Pour and Bake: Fill the cake pan with the batter. If necessary, smooth the top using a spatula. A toothpick inserted in the center should come out clean after baking for 30 to 35 minutes.
- Cool and Serve: After the cake has cooled in the pan for ten or so minutes, move it to a wire rack to finish cooling. Before serving, you can choose to cover with whipped cream or sprinkle with powdered sugar.
Advice: You can incorporate a teaspoon of cinnamon or lemon zest into the batter to enhance its flavor. Frosting suggestion: If you like your cake frosted, you may create a basic buttercream or cream cheese frosting to go with it.
